Application

All applications to the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program must be submitted through ERAS, the Electronic Residency Application Service.

Applications will be reviewed once they include the following minimum requirements:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Letter of recommendation from the residency Program Director
  • At least 2 additional letters of recommendation
  • Medical school transcripts
  • MSPE
  • USMLE transcripts
  • Personal statement
  • ECFMG Status Report (if applicable)

If any of the items listed above are missing, the application will not be considered. Applicants that are invited for an interview will be asked asked to provide a photograph.

Applications for fellowships beginning July 1, 2018 open on July 15, 2017. The deadline to submit an application to our program is Monday, August 14, 2017 at 11:59pm CST.

Interviews are granted on a rolling basis as applications are reviewed. Candidates are encouraged to submit applications early as interview slots fill quickly.

Interviews will be held on select Mondays and Fridays in September and October. The interview day starts at 7:15am and lasts until approximately 1:45pm. The scheduled interview dates are listed below:

All interviewees are encouraged to attend the Candidate Welcome Dinner with current fellows at 7:00pm the night prior to the interview.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the program accept candidates with visa sponsorship?

Our program accepts H-1B and J-1 visas for transfer, but does not sponsor new visa applications.

I received an email from InterviewBroker.com regarding an interview with Washington University. Is this legitimate?

Yes. Our program uses InterviewBroker.com to send decisions regarding applications and interview invitations. All applicants will receive at least one Interview Broker email. If you have applied and do not receive an email, or have questions about the content of the email, please contact the Program Coordinator.

Can I interview with a specific physician?

We try our best to match candidates with requested physician interviewers, but cannot guarantee all specific requests owing to scheduling difficulties. Whenever possible, we will match candidates with interviewers that share clinical interests.

Fellowship interviews take place at the Division of Oncology's administrative offices, which are located on the 11th floor of the Mid-Campus Center (4590 Children's Place, St. Louis, MO 63110).

Directions to the Medical Campus

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is located within the Washington University Medical Center in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, just north of the Highway 64 and Kingshighway Blvd. intersection.

Your interview will be held in the Mid-Campus Center (4590 Children's Place), which is directly north of the Central West End Metrolink platform.

From the East: Take I-64 westbound. Exit at Boyle Avenue and turn right to head North. Turn left at the first light onto Clayton Ave. Continue for three blocks on Clayton, then turn right onto Taylor Ave. Go north on Taylor Avenue to Children’s Place. You will cross over the Metrolink tracks. Turn left onto Children's Place. The Mid-Campus Center will be on your left at the end of the street.

From the West: Take I-70 eastbound to I-170 southbound. Exit I-170 southbound onto I-64 eastbound. Take I-64 to the Tower Grove Ave. exit. Follow the roundabout to the third exit and head North on Tower Grove Ave. At the first light, turn left on Clayton Ave. Take Clayton two blocks to Taylor Avenue and turn right. Go north on Taylor Avenue to Children's Place. You will cross over the Metrolink tracks. Turn left onto Children’s Place. The Mid-Campus Center will be on your left at the end of the street.

From the South: Take I-55 Northbound to I-64 Eastbound, then follow the directions above from the east.

From the North: In Missouri, take US-61 Southbound to the I-64 exchange. Then follow directions above from the West.

From Lambert International Airport:
Driving: Follow directions above from the West.
Metrolink: Candidates may take the Metrolink, the local light rail system, from the airport to campus. The cost of a one-way ticket is $2.50. Riders should exit the train at the Central West End station. Exit the platform up the stairs to reach Euclid Avenue. Turn right to head north. The Mid-Campus Center will be immediately on your right. You can find information regarding routes, schedules, and fares online at http://metrostlouis.org/Default.aspx.
