Adult Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorders Center
The Washington University Division of Hematology brings together experts from a range of specialties to provide comprehensive, integrated care to patients with bleeding, clotting, and other hematologic disorders in our federally supported center of excellence.
Our center has a specialty pharmacy and 340B Factor Program that patients may use for their home therapy and nursing needs. We also provide education on infusion and drug administration as part of your treatment plan.
Conditions we treat
- Hemophilia A and B (clotting factor VIII and IX deficiencies)
- Von Willebrand Disease
- Rare bleeding disorders, including:
- Factor V, VII, X, XI, and XIII deficiencies
- Platelet function disorders
- Glanzmann’s disease
- Other rare blood disorders, including:
- Plasminogen deficiencies
- Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT)
- Thrombosis and clotting conditions, including:
- Deep vein thrombosis
- Pulmonary embolism
- Gum bleeding
- Heavy periods
- Prolonged bleeding
- Frequent nosebleeds
- Frequent or unexplained bruising

During our comprehensive, multidisciplinary hemophilia and bleeding disorders clinic, patients are seen by a variety of specialists at one convenient appointment. Your visit may include a personalized evaluation by a hematologist, a hemophilia nurse coordinator, physical therapist, and social worker. Our compassionate and caring staff will help guide your care so you and your family can maintain the best quality of life possible.
In addition to our core team, we collaborate with experts from many other specialties to provide comprehensive, coordinated care for our patients. Your treatment plan may include consultations with providers from:
